"I Do"
by Puck (He/They)
Message Attributes: Radical Self-Love, Healthy Relationships, Holding Space for Self and Others, The Work of Love
"Your worthiness is affirmed by your actions to show up for your growth first, and then turbo charged and mirrored back when someone else is ready to do the work of love with you.
“Welcome to The Revolution, Beloved."
This pog was created using oil pastels on aluminum substrate, the artist uses their synesthesia to get the color, texture, and movement of a song in two-dimensions. You can listen to the song ("I Do" by Placebo) while looking at the image to receive its message, and there is further inspiration below.
More inspiration from this pog...
The Self/Other relationship is one of reciprocity, or in its most ideal and healthy state it is. For as long as we have been squaring off against patriarchy, the beast with many heads, this relationship has been broken, the reciprocal cycles forcibly held in states of absolutes. If The Self is not even possible without The Other, when each remains permanently fixed to those positions we see breakdown everywhere in how we as a species move through and navigate this life - relating to all of the consciousnesses: people, animals, the earth, our ancestors, and the universe.
Consequently - it is within our power to begin to heal this pain of being held in stone. When you show up and step into Radical Self-Love, you become a true Self - capable of (and sees value in being) an Other, where you love on qualities that make you bristle (ahem, shadow work) and shine on the ones you adore, you not only cast signals for others to do the same - you are more able to receive (all of the) love from the outside. Your worthiness is affirmed by your actions to show up for your growth first, and then it is turbo charged and mirrored back when someone else shows up who is ready to do the work of love with you.
Welcome to The Revolution, Beloved.
"FTP"
by Raffi Marhaba (They/Them)
Fuck the Police, Free the Prisoners,
Fight the Power, Free the People,
Face the Past/Present, Feel the Power...
This piece is not only about abolishing the police, or the right to rise-up and destroy property.
It's also about highlighting Black nonbinary transmasc people in an empowering and sensitive way: their fist is up and there are also tears falling down their face.
Oftentimes, transmasculine people are excluded from media and discourses surrounding queerness and race.
"Identity"
by Colleen Dream Weaver (She/They)
Identity is alive, it can be fluid, stationary, it can move, dance and play. Identity can be complex, identity can be simple.
There is no definite timeline of when you should know who you are. Take comfort in knowing there is a vast expanse of identity expressions and, ultimately,
YOU will always be YOU.
Try to be unapologetic about this.
In addition, remember to respect the way others identify and to adapt to any changes with love and gratitude.
"Femme God"
by Linnea Sumner (She/They)
"It's important to represent the hardships of the queer experience, but I think it's also important to celebrate the good. I wanted to create an image that shows that the world truly belongs to us too, and we hold it with gentleness and an undeniable strength.
This poem below captures this beautifully and brings me comfort."
"Raze the Roof"
by Al Darcher
Image text:
-A house burns from the bottom up
-You are being asked : Is there an oppressor...
in your scene?
your house?
your mind?
What will you have done today to kill the cop in your head?
And don't forget...
