What are Topical Brews?
Topical Brews are handcrafted potions, brewed beneath the full moon and infused with both intention and natural magic. Each bottle contains a gemstone that resonates with the ingredients inside, amplifying their energy. These Brews are designed for external use—aromatherapy, anointing objects, and ritual work. Shake well before use, and let your intuition guide the way.
Every Brew undergoes a charging journey, where the elements surrounding its creation align with a specific intention or attitude. Think of it as an enchanted oil—rich with magical ingredients and vibrant energy—that deepens your rituals, strengthens your intentions, and enhances your spells.
Ways to Use Your Topical Brew:
Aromatherapy & Intention Setting
Waft the fragrance toward your nose, breathing deeply as you focus on your intention, wish, or question. Apply to your wrists, neck, decolletage, or feet throughout the day. Let the aroma remind you of your purpose and invite breakthroughs and clarity.Candle Magic
Carve your intention onto a candle and anoint it with a drop of your Brew. Burn during rituals, divination, or meditation. (Please practice fire safety—oils are flammable.)Massage Ritual
Use your Topical Brew as a massage oil to nurture both body and spirit.Free Write & Burn
Write down everything on your mind—unedited, unfiltered—until you feel complete. Seal the writing with a positive affirmation. Anoint the paper with your Brew, then burn it to release and let go.
Laudan No. 125
Charging Journey:
On January 25, 2024 under the Full Wolf Moon A combination of Poppy Seed Oil, Almond Oil, Amber, Bergamot, Cardamom, Rose and Vanilla were charged under the light of the Full Moon with a piece of raw Howlite gemstone.
A candle was burned alongside the Brew with this intention carved on it, "May this Potion Bring stillness to the maddened mind, Clarity through the cobwebs, Relaxation to the restless, And warmth to the isolated."
The Brew was then charged with the song essence of “Feel The Same” by Bully and the Tarot essence of the Four of Swords, Four of Cups and The Hermit.
Laudanum No.125 was born from the need for restoration and the healing of wounds; the emotions and boredom that can come with moments of much needed, long rest; the realization/denial of defeat; the need to surrender to the chrysalis. Change is coming soon and you can feel it, but for now you need to take it slow and nourish yourself.
This brew is named after a tincture of opium popularly used in the Victorian era to alleviate pain, insomnia and “female disorders”. The name was coined from the Latin laudare, meaning “to praise” by the 16th century Swiss-German physician Paracelsus, best known for his dictum “only the dose makes the poison.”
This Topical brew does not contain opium but, to pay homage to its origins, the carrier oil is that of the poppy seed. The essential oils used and the gemstone Howlite are commonly used for relaxation, warmth, healing, and entering a dream-like state.
I created this potion when I was in a time of deep healing, reckoning and isolation. During this particular healing period I was feeling very sarcastic, angry and I wanted justice. I felt silenced and vulnerable, but I also needed to build my strength back up and properly nourish my body. It was not a time for action, I felt restrained. I could feel myself going mad. I thought of the Laudanum tincture as it was given to women for “hysteria”, and slowly surrendered to my (tongue-in-cheek) insanity.
Ravenous No. 224
Charging Journey:
On February 24, 2024 under the Full Hunger Moon A combination of Sea Buckthorn Oil, Almond Oil, Chaga Extract, Peppermint, Cedar, Juniper and Rosemary were charged under the light of the Moon with a piece of Garnet gemstone.
A candle was burned alongside the Brew with this intention carved on it, "May the road rise with you, May your rage be sacred, May your hunger be sated."
The Brew was then charged with the song essence of “Renegades of Funk” by Rage Against The Machine, and the tarot essence of the Seven of Wands, The Chariot and Strength.
Ravenous No.224 is useful during times of movement, motivated by a call to action from your ancestors. A period of restoration and contemplation is coming to an end, it has served you well, and you are inspired and ready to create! It’s as though you’ve been hibernating for months and as you emerge from your cave an insatiable hunger takes over. It is time to feed!
This brew is inspired by my Viking Berserker ancestors. Problematic as they were, they knew when it was time to make a move and go after what they wanted. It is rumored they would eat hallucinogenic mushrooms before battle to induce a trance-like rage called Berserkergang.
This Topical Brew does not contain hallucinogens, but to pay homage to the storied Berserkergang, Chaga Mushroom is one of the ingredients. The other essential oils and the gemstone Garnet are commonly used for regeneration, circulation, pain relief and immunity.
I created this potion when it was time to graduate from the dreaminess of “Laudanum No.125”. I had rested enough and it was time to move, even if it was just a walk around the block, I needed to get the blood flowing. I noticed along with this restlessness came a deep hunger and a sacred rage. I was ready to fight and ready to take action!
Belladonna No. 325
Charging Journey:
On March 25, 2024 under the Full Crow Moon A combination of Sweet Almond Oil, Ashwagandha, Clove, Ylang Ylang and Palmarosa were charged under the light of the Moon with a piece of Obsidian gemstone.
A candle was burned alongside the Brew with this intention carved on it, "May your portals be opened, May the nectar flow, May you embrace this sacred cycle. May you take your power back."
The Brew was then charged with the song essence of “Touched” by Vast, and the Tarot essence of The Lovers, The Tower and The Wheel of Fortune.
Belladonna No.325 is a dedication to Sex and Death, the two great portals. In divination we learn not to think of sex and death in finite terms. What one may see as a romance, another may see as a choice. What one may see as a door closing, another may see an opportunity. However you define sex and death in the moment you are using this Topical Brew- is correct.
This brew is named after a deadly nightshade, used as a cosmetic and a poison. Drops from the plant have been used in the eye to dilate the pupil creating a doe-like beauty, a glamor spell if you will, used to lure lovers. The plant’s leaves have also been used to poison and murder the ones you wish to lure no more. Neither of these uses are recommended. This brew embodies the energies of the Black Widow, to love and kill all at once (metaphorically of course).
This Topical brew does not contain actual Belladonna, but the ingredients are known for their aphrodisiac properties and can aid in release. Charged under the Crow Full Moon, this concoction is ideal for blocking what no longer serves and opening up to vast possibilities. This potion was brewed during a great shed. I was in a raw and powerful liminal space. Change is inevitable, you will constantly be learning new things about yourself and my advice is to dive in! Become who you truly are, live authentically and make adjustments where it is needed for you to correspond to the nature of your own song.
In the process of living authentically I have needed time to rest and process my new self (Laudanum No.125), then I have needed to take action and create accommodations for my new life, sometimes having to fight hard for what I truly need (Ravenous No.224), during all this I am transforming, molting, cracking open, sprouting and molting again. Belladonna No.324 is not the final stage, there is no final stage, only a cycle. Use this potion throughout the process as needed when you are vulnerable, on the threshold, beginning and ending, loving and leaving. This potion is intended to help you view life from the center of the Wheel of Fortune, rather than getting dizzy on the edge.
